Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence and Innovation
On May 18th, 2024, we celebrated the 50 years of Riverside Family Medicine with a day-long event that brought together alumni, faculty, residents, and staff from across the state and the country. We reconnected with old friends, met new colleagues, and shared memories and stories from our program’s rich history.
The event started with a tour of the Riverside Family Practice Center where our current residents and faculty showcased our facilities, services, and patient care. Alumni and current residents exchanged stories of all that has changed and what has remained the same over the years! There was also an alumni picnic at the OhioHealth Blum Administrative Campus where alumni and former staff enjoyed lunch and opportunities to reconnect.
The highlight of the day was the evening celebration at the Columbus Museum of Art where alumni reconnected while enjoying food from Lindey’s and browsing the art on display. The event included a brief program featuring distinguished alumni Dr. Steve Markovich and Dr. Edward Bope (pictured below). The program celebrated Riverside Family Medicine’s rich history and those that have contributed to it. The annual distinguished service resident award in honor of Dr. Bope was presented to PGY3 resident Dr. Kennedy Ovenseri. Current program director Dr. Steve Auciello (pictured above) closed the program by celebrating exciting program updates.
We thank everyone who attended and participated in the celebration, and we hope to see you again soon.
