Riverside Family Practice

At Riverside Family Practice you will be well equipped and supported through all three years of residency to see the required 1650 patients needed to graduate. Our residents surpass this number and get a wide variety of experiences in the clinic. The average number of patients seen in a half day are seen below: 

PGY1 ~4-5 patients a half day; required 1 half day a week

PGY2 ~6-7 patients a half day; required 3 half days a week

PGY3 ~8-9 patients a half day; required 5 half days a week

(based on your rotation the number of half days in clinic may be higher)

Residents are able to get full spectrum family medicine experience through our clinic and develop the skills throughout the course of three years to feel comfortable with the volume of patients seen at an Attending level.

Specialty Clinics

Riverside has multiple specialty clinics in our office to compliment the diverse curricula our faculty cover and have interests in. 

Addiction Medicine – Our MAT (medication-assisted treatment) clinic is offered twice a  week. We have grown our patient panel through our partnership with OB Suboxone management. 

OMT Clinic – Two dedicated days and faculty that assist residents interested in seeking out OMT practice and experience.

Procedure Clinic – Our residents get training in a variety of different procedures including:

  • Shave/Punch/Excisional Biopsies
  • Toe Nail removal
  • Cyst/Lipoma removal
  • I&D
  • Laceration repair
  • Cryotherapy
  • Circumcisions

Women’s Health Procedure Clinic – Dedicated OB faculty that assist with the procedures listed:

  • IUD insertion/removal
  • Nexplanon insertion/removal
  • Colposcopy
  • Endometrial biopsy

Food Is Health  – Residents lead clinic where our patient panel is able to receive fresh produce and learn nutrition topics that assist with improving A1c and diabetes control. 

Sports Medicine – Dedicated faculty that is Board Certified in Sports Medicine as well as fellows assist our residents with this clinic were they are able to dive into different sports pathology and practice joint injections, including US guided injections.
